Healing With Art and Soul
Join Joan Forest Mage and her fellow authors for a celebration of their new book Healing with Art and Soul. Book signing and reception is Friday night, followed by a day of workshops in Expressive Arts Therapy.
Joan is one of forty contributors to this book, which contains the proceedings of a Conference on Expressive Arts Therapy at which Joan was a presentet in January 2006 in St. Petersburg FL. The practitioners came together as a tribe to create healing ritual through the arts.
The authors share their expertise as Expressive Arts professionals in theories and methods of how the arts - dance, music, visual art, singing, theater, poetry - can be used for healing and connection to soul.

Here is what Lauren says about Thai Yoga Therapy: “The modality that I practice and offer to you is great for your muscular, circulatory, immune & nervous systems. I also serve to help those who hold stress in their bodies. The Thai bodywork I provide may calm the mind/body of athletes or those with desk jobs. It creates a welcoming, relaxing break to any day. The average session with me is 90 minutes. I work with clients using traditional Thai healing techniques, which are light & relaxing. Thai bodywork enhances overall well being, helps stimulate & balance internal subtle energies. In a typical session I may stretch my client into gentle yoga poses to improve flexibility. Along with providing Thai bodywork sessions, I teach weekly Kundalini yoga classes in Downtown Chicago."
Lauren is a member of Thai Healing Alliance, Yoga Alliance & IKYTA - International Kundalini Yoga Teacher's Association. She is a graduate of the Chicago School of Thai Massage.

Summer Solstice
The Lyceum of Alexandria will celebrate Summer Solstice on June 20, 6 pm, at Life Force Arts Center, 3148 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago.
Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, represents the coming together of Water and Fire as the Sun goes into the Water sign of Cancer, which is ruled by the Moon.
The month of June was named for the Goddess Juno, goddess of marriage. Thus we celebrate the Sacred Union of Goddess and God, Moon and Sun. Water and Fire...the alchemical wedding.
The liturgy for this celebration is The Mystical Awakening of Gemini which honors Artemis and Apollo, deities of Moon and Sun. You are encouraged to download a copy for your own use to bring to the ceremony. If you are unable to attend in person, you may join us in spirit by attunement.
The true alchemical marriage is that which takes place within, and unifies the various aspects of ourselves represented by Moon and Sun, Water and Fire, Inner and Outer. The Mystical Awakening of Gemini will lead us to that wisdom.
